Sony NW-E02 series flashplayers

Sony is set to release their latest flash players in March, the NW-E02 series. The memory sizes are 1gb for the NW-E023, 2gb for the NW-E025, and 4gb for the NW-E026. Each size is available in a five color assortment; white, pink, green, red, and black. The faces of the players are designed so you can add changeable color and design templates to suit your whim and I’d expect their to be a Hello Kitty version available before summer.
The specs say these can play ATRAC, PCM, WMA, MP3, and AAC, with a disclaimer that DRM’ed WMA and AAC can’t be played. The connector is a standard male USB plug so you don’t need a proprietary cable but the cap for the connector isn’t connected to the player in any way so you have to be cautious ’bout that.
The screen is LCD and displays three lines along with an optional album-jacket function. Tis has a five-band equalizer and something Sony calls ‘clear stereo’ which means pre-set EQ function. The supplied earbuds are the MDR-EX82 earphones in white for the white, pink, and green player and black for the red and black player.
These players measure 83.7 × 22.3 × 16.2mm and weigh 28 grams. They have a built-in Li-Ion cell which has a quick-charge for approximately three hours playback from a 3-minute plug-in and a complete charge takes about one hour. The specs. chart mentions the capability of FM reception, of course only Japan band of 76 to 90MHz, but does not specify if it is in all models or a side model…usually with an ‘F’ at the end of the model number.
These will be available in Japan starting March 8th and the introductory prices are 10,800 ? for the NW-E023, 12,800 ? for the NW-E025, and 15,800 ? for the NW-E026. The accessory covers will also be released on the 8th and cost approximately 1,280 ? each.
